Program Offerings

Current Program Offerings:

Have fond memories of the Big Band era? Wish you knew more about the swingin’ tunes of the good old days?
"Big Band Memories", a highly interactive program presented by veteran big band trumpet player Bill Hart, is now available for your patrons.  Hart, who toured with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Tex Beneke, Stars of the Lawrence Welk Shows, and many others shares memories of his 50+ years performing with Dinah Shore, Eddie Fisher, Vic Damone, Les Paul and Mary Ford, Maguire Sisters, and others.

Everyone is given a Request Sheet when they enter. Hart spreads the sheets on a table. Without announcing the title, Hart and Tedrick start playing one of the songs from someone's list. Everyone is encouraged to "be the first to yell out the correct title. . . Name That Tune!" They play the song all the way through, then invite the person who requested it to identify himself and explain the significance of the song in their memories. A bit of trivia may follow. Who wrote that? What else did he/she write?  Who made it famous?

Nothing is prerecorded. No printed music is used. It Had To Be You always gets played. The composer grew up in Saginaw. Can you name him, and name other standards he wrote?
